Fictional products like Duff beer in The Simpsons, or even fake movies like Stab in the Scream franchise have always been a huge part of entertainment. Even though real-life games have appeared in famous movies, like the time Thor played Fortnite in Avengers: Endgame, many video games have also been made up for the screen. From Disney animated movies to Black Mirror, many fictional games were invented either to make a good original story or just to poke fun at something that already exists. Some were more creative than others, and some just aimed to be hilarious. Some of the games on this list had actual titles released simultaneously with their original media. Still, just like the Wonka bars from Willy Wonka in the Chocolate Factory, it’s just not as magical in the real world. With over 30 years of history, The Simpsons have many fictional IPs within their yellow universe. Some of their fictional gaming industry was already explored in The Simpsons Game (2007), with levels like Grand Theft Scratchy and Medal of Homer making fun of actual successful game franchises. Still, we never got the chance to experience Bonestorm or Dash Dingo.

Fans are hoping that the MachineGames Xbox-exclusive title will finally deliver when it’s released. When I first put my hands on this game in 2009, the year it was released, I knew something was wrong. Indy never looked so stiff in a poster or a cover box before, he looked quite… artificial. To no surprise, when the game started, it was just like its cover. Yet, due to the absence of better Indiana Jones games, here it is in the top 10.

Comic books, shows, and movies coexist in Fortnite’s DC Series. The Original Symbiote Suit

In Marvel’s Spider-Man’s post-credit scene, we figured out why Insomniac didn’t bring any version of the black suit to the first game: they had Venom planned to star in the sequel. In its gameplay trailer, we had our first look at Peter’s new outfit, a very grotesque bug-like design with just the attitude a dark Spider-Man suit needs.

The long-awaited sequel to the highly acclaimed Alan Wake has finally got its second trailer, which shows much more than the gameplay footage fans saw at the Game Awards in 2021.

For those unfamiliar with the first title, Alan Wake is a survival horror game with plenty of psychological elements. In its original entry, players were able to take on the role of a thriller writer Alan Wake in the episodic story as he found himself having overcome the dark, shadowy figures from his dreams. It seems Alan has some more nightmares to endure, as he can be seen battling new monsters in this exciting trailer.

Marvel was Fortnite’s first collaboration to have its own rarity for cosmetics back when the Black Widow outfit was released in the Item Shop to celebrate Marvel Studios’ newest movie at the time, Avengers Endgame. Five days later, she would be joined by the legendary Star-Lord in what was the very beginning of the Marvel Series in the game. After over 50 skins have been added, among mutant superheroes and god-like villains, it’s safe to say that Marvel and Epic Games have built an equally beneficial relationship that –for our own good– seems far from over.

With the brand new Spider-Man cosmetics inspired by the Across the Spider-Verse movie being added to the Marvel Series, we thought it would be a great time to revisit our locker and rank some of our favorite Marvel skins released in Fortnite so far.

Dead by Daylight has been knocking it out of the park with these recent announcements; first it was confirmed that they’re having a film adaptation in development with Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, and just a few days ago they shared a teaser of the next survivor coming to the game, which is none other than Nicolas Cage. It’s something that no one was expecting, I mean, we’ve been asking for Sidney Prescott from Scream for years, but sure, I guess I wouldn’t mind playing as Cage instead.

Aside from Sidney, fans have been begging the devs to bring characters from Until Dawn as survivors, most specifically Sam and Emily. It seems the two have been listening to the community as Supermassive Games and Behaviour Interactive recently made an announcement video, along with their subtle tweet directly to Dead by Daylight that confirms they will finally be working together on a collab.

When I tell my friends that Fortnite is the best ongoing game out there – or at least my favorite – I don’t mean only in terms of fun and gameplay but also how the microtransactions work. The game is entirely free but, you know, it’s Fortnite, so if you want to play as Spider-Man or a Stormtrooper, you’ll have to spend money at least once to get the battle pass. In theory, that’s the only time you need to put real money in-game, as battle passes pay themselves off and give you more V-Bucks than what you had before, letting you buy the next one without spending a dime – which is something Overwatch 2 should learn from.

But for skin enthusiasts like me, on December 2020 Epic Games came up with the greatest deal of all: the Fortnite Crew, an $11.99 monthly subscription that grants players 1,000 V-Bucks and new cosmetics every month. Since then, 30 new outfits were added to the game, although not all of them were very appealing, we certainly got some hidden gems that will become pretty rare in the long run, as players only had one chance to purchase them – so here’s some of the best.

There are so many reasons to fall in love with Dreamlight Valley, with its rich characters, intriguing questlines, and endless things to do. Fortnite is constantly updating the item shop with new collabs from many fan-favorite series. Every time May 4th comes around, players typically expect new Star Wars-themed skins and the limited-time event that brings back lightsabers. One of the latest Star Wars skins to hit the shop is Anakin Skywalker, but leakers have already hinted about a second secret character coming with the Jedi knight to the Item Shop.

Disney Speedstorm was recently released in early access, and although it came out with nine authentic tracks based on childhood classics like Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, and Monsters, Inc., it’s not too soon to daydream about future maps that could be added to the game.

Disney has introduced so many characters throughout the past century who mean the world to fans, so any time they bring those characters to life again and let us Disney lovers feel close to them, it becomes a magical experience. Disney in partnership with Gameloft gave us Dreamlight Valley last year, a life simulator where you can get to be friends with your favorite Disney characters, and now they’ve brought us a new game that heavily contrasts with the coziness of their previous title: Disney Speedstorm, an action-packed racing game that’s now available in early access.

We’ve seen Mickey Mouse’s company dive into the racing genre before, with games like Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour and Cars 3: Driven to Win, but we’ve never seen so many of the iconic characters get together for a competitive race until now. Disney Speedstorm already has an incredibly diverse set of properties ranging from princess movies to even live-action films like Pirates of the Caribbean, which proves that nothing is off the table here.

The Resident Evil 4 remake seems to be exactly what the fans have been waiting for since Capcom started to release their classic games reimagined with the RE Engine. The Resident Evil 2 remake was amazing, but not completely faithful to the original, while the third one divided fans by bringing a thrilling action game but it still lacked content. When Respawn revealed that Apex Legends Revelry would bring brand-new events almost every month, they weren’t joking. Elden Ring’s latest patch brought plenty of changes to some spells, weapons, ashes of war, and talismans in the game. Weapons like the Straight Sword, Katana, Twin Blade Sword, and more have received buffs that give players increased running attack speed and improved guard counter speed as well, with the downside being less time to recover from the attack.

Some of the biggest adjustments include nerfing the Wave of Gold ability on the Sacred Relic Sword in PvP battles, which in addition to its excellent ability at farming runes, was great at keeping enemies at bay – players should be eager to see if it’s equally as effective after the patch. They have also decreased travel distance when rolling while using light equipment, and have added Ray-Tracing for next-gen consoles PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
